West Bengal PT runs monthly and applies above ₹10,000 monthly salary, with an annual cap of ₹2,500. Most knowledge-work roles fall above the threshold, so PT is a real ongoing line item. The slabs are tighter than Maharashtra’s but the principle is the same: the system has to deduct correctly and remit on time.

The other Kolkata-specific reality is the monsoon. Heavy rains between June and September, plus the cyclone risk between April and November, mean WFH spikes are frequent and unpredictable. Annual cap is ₹2,500 (Article 276 of the Constitution). EasyHR deducts the right amount each month, generates the relevant returns, and tracks the annual cap so you don’t over-deduct.

For the salaried, employer-deducted PT remittance follows the West Bengal Commercial Taxes schedule. Salaried-individual returns are due 31 July annually.
