What is Reviewer?

A reviewer is a person responsible for assessing, evaluating, or verifying the work or performance of others.

In an organization, managers or supervisors typically act as reviewers during the performance appraisal process, where they evaluate employees’ tasks, achievements, and overall contributions.

In a Performance Management System (PMS), the reviewer plays a key role in providing feedback, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that employees meet their goals and align with the company’s objectives. Their assessment helps in decision-making related to promotions, training, and performance improvement plans.

How HR teams use this term

HR teams usually use Reviewer when they write policies, explain employee communication, review payroll or leave records, or keep employee data clean in an HRMS.
