What is Aptitude testing?

Aptitude testing is the most common type of test done during the recruitment process of a candidate. It is designed to measure a candidate’s ability to think and get succeed in a given activity/task. It identifies intellectual thinking, presence of mind, use of common sense, and focus in a single test. The test contains a set of questions that can be solved only based on thinking in a given period. It is considered that along with intelligence, aptitude testing is also a very important factor while hiring as the measurement provides sufficient information about candidate’s potentialities.

There are several types of aptitude tests available online for candidates to practice. The measurement is based on the lowest and highest scores.

How HR teams use this term

HR teams usually use Aptitude Testing when they write policies, explain employee communication, review payroll or leave records, or keep employee data clean in an HRMS.
